Maureen O'Shaughnessy
 
Maureen O'Shaughnessy holds a Masters of Creative Writing from the University of Technology Sydney (2012) and has taught at Sydney University  and Wollongong TAFE. Previous work has been published in Best Australian Essays, Island, Blue Dog, Wet Ink, Best Music Writing under the Australian Sun, Australian Poetry Journal, Hide Your Fires, Rock Country,  Metabolism, Artsrush and Swamp. She has been a finalist in  several poetry prizes, among them The Newcastle Poetry Prize, The Bruce Dawe Poetry Prize and the Blake Poetry Prize: Her poem, Thursday, July 15 was awarded The Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize (2010).  She has written two novels Lakeland,  (2015) and The Truth about A, a verse novella, (2017) both published with Ginninderra Press. She is currently working on a doctorate at Western S ydney University and her third novel.
